Sitter Session FAQ

Hello and welcome! If you are here it’s probably because you are wondering what a Milestone Session is and how it works, so let me dive in to what exactly it is.

A milestone session, or "sitter session" is for babies that are between 6-10 months that can hold themselves up securely in a strong sit on their own (look mom no hands) and takes place before they can walk. Many parents love documenting as many milestones as possible and after newborn photos this is this biggest milestone that makes for even more amazing photos to add to your home!

If you have some very strong micro-fashion pieces this is the time to pull them out of the closet. Outfits can really help build the essence of the shoot as long as they don’t distract from the main focus, your tiny model who is an amazing sitter. I love using neutral palettes to creating timeless images, so please save the leafs jersey for game nights. I have a selection of outfits to choose from so please don’t stress over what to wear.

Another reason to get them in before they are walking is to get lots of poses without running around! There is a variety of images available and even more smiles when they are sitting and giving full attention. This makes for shorter sessions (think 45 min) and they are at the age where they can connect with me (someone they don’t know) easier and aren’t as shy as a toddler. These quick connections make for genuine smiles and happy parents.
